How to get to Göttingen

By plane:
You can travel to Göttingen via several airports. The nearest international airport is Hannover. Transfer from the airport to Hannover main station lasts 20-30 minutes. From Hannover main station the Intercity express (ICE) needs about 30 minutes to reach Göttingen main station.

Oversea flights arrive at Frankfurt, Hamburg. Frankfurt and Hamburg are second nearest airports to Göttingen. Direct train connections from both airports reach Göttingen and last about 2 hours.

Please note that Göttingen must be necessarily written with the Umlaut “ö” when booking the train. Your goal station is “Göttingen HBF”.


By train:
You can get to Göttingen central station by train from many German and European cities. Göttingen central station is located near the congress venue, close to the city center. Further information concerning railroad connections can be obtain from the website of the Deusche Bahn.

From Göttingen station you can either take a taxi to your accommodation or take a bus from the central bus station, which is located next to the train station.

Please note that Göttingen must be necessarily written with the Umlaut “ö” when booking the train. Your goal station is “Göttingen HBF”.


By car:
Göttingen is located directly off the Autobahn A7, a major north to south motorway between Hannover and Kassel. There are two Göttingen exits. Please check a route planner for the most convenient exit.
